am: Group lesson, enough is enough as regards the feet. Hired some boots &
tried 'Flow' bindings. Halleluiah! Like riding in carpet slippers... well
happy. Except for the fact I'll never wear my step-ins again, and new boots
& bindings will set me back 400 Euro :-( A good, productive morning
working on turns and stance. Most of the morning was spent at 1800. A good
mix of exercises and riding. The high point was coming off a lift (I'm
regular) to the left of one of the Gozoians, Alan, who is goofy. We both
slid down the arrival ramp facing each other with our boards parallel and
millimetres apart, doing the same speed. Eventually we just had to grab
each others' coats and I couldn't help but say "Shall we dance?" before we
both collapsed in a hysterial heap at the foot of some snooty skiers, both
of us in stitches. You had to be there, really... :-) My riding improved
quite a bit, thanks to painless feet and being able to relax. A really good
session.
pm: Teaching Steve, went down 'Le Plan' and Edelweiss, but pretty slow as
only Steve's 4th day.
